Moses the Egyptian

In 1786 Karl Leonard Reinhold wrote an essay on the subject of Moses the Egyptian, which, according to Jan Assmann, "forms the missing link between Spencer and Freud". That's John Spencer (1630-1693), an English Hebraist. Assmann says those old Christian Hebraists knew their stuff better than an average Old Testament scholar today.
